Ieri ho letto per caso su facebook che era il compleanno di Johan Hedberg, già cantante dei nostri amati Suburban Kids With Biblical Names. E mi è tornato in mente che, nonostante la band di Stoccolma sia silenziosa da ormai troppi anni, Hedberg aveva pubblicato qualche mese fa un interessante singolo a proprio nome, e che qui su polaroid non lo avevo ancora passato. Con la scsua di fargli gli auguri, mi è sembrata l'occasione giusta per recuperare.
Vårdbiträdesblues si avvicina molto al suono dei SKWBN, ma è cantata in svedese (e a quanto pare il tono del testo è più amaro). Così è venuta in mio soccorso Matilda Berggren, già bassista dei Mixtapes & Cellmates, che si è prestata alla traduzione in inglese (con tanto di note a piè di pagina). *Neighbourhoods here is more like a "safe" neighbourhood (direct translation according to the dictionary: residential neighbourhoods) only with family houses and most of them might look the same. You know?

***Pig = he's actually singing "swine" but it doesn't have the same effect in english, no?
